Installing Windows 7 not on the first SATA connector
The backstory: I was trying to install Windows 7 on a system with a regular hard drive and a solid-state drive. The hardware setup happened…to have the HDD attached to the first SATA connector and the SSD to the second one (and this could not be changed). ¶ So far, so good. Should be easy, one would think. Well, yes, unless it is supposed to be installed on the second SATA connector. ¶ For some obscure reason Windows insists on installing its SYSTEM partition on the drive attached to the very first SATA connector.
